November 01, 2004Kids, Cereal, and SchoolWith the traditionally busy family winter moving season just around the corner, we thought it was a good time to go hunting for some family-friendly houses, with an emphasis on size and good access to schools. The first house we found was on a quiet tree-lined street near Komaba Park and next to Tokyo University’s leafy Komaba Campus. Although very close to the fun and bustle of Shibuya, this house offers plenty of quiet and space, with 5 bedrooms, a big living room with fireplace, a nice eat-in kitchen for the kids and their cereal, and a room for the maid. With an ASIJ (American School in Japan) bus stop only 3 minutes away, and the British school a 10 minute drive away, this house is the ideal place for a family with kids.

Less than a minute’s walk to Seisen International School in Yoga (and a 5 minute bike ride to St. Mary’s), this great house boasts 4 expansive bedrooms, a maid room, and a sunny Japanese-styled garden.
The surrounding neighborhood is reminicent of some nice upper middle class neighborhood in...hmm...let's say New Jersey, with amazingly straight streets, amazingly square blocks of houses, and amazingly beautiful cherry trees lining the walkways. But cherry blossom season is still months away, and that'll have to be the subject of another post!
